The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Table

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within the city.

Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.

This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The antagonist then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • However, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This means them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers tables.

Viewers can expect discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
