Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
